These are the top 10 GNLD nutritional products…
There’s a short product description, product benefits, as well as the Nappi Code for each product. The Nappi Codes are used by South African Medical Aids on their databases to recognise products.
Some Medical Aids do pay towards the cost of nutritional products, as part of their prevention policy. Please note the Nappi Code of the product you want, and then check directly with your Medical Aid what their payment policy is.
Please also remember this information about GNLD’s top 10 nutritional products is not prescriptive and is not intended to save you a visit to your doctor. Always consult with your health care provider for treatment of medical conditions.
Here they are… the GNLD top 10

If you’re looking for just one health supplement to take, Nutrishake is it!

Posted by David & Heide on June 26, 2008 at 3:45 pm
Hi Elizabeth. Any registered GNLD Distributor can sponsor a new Distributor in any country where GNLD does business… at the moment about 53 countries. In the USA it’s particularly easy, as there is an online registration facility. You’ll find the link at the bottom of GNLD’s homepage at http://www.gnld.com
Wish you all the best with your overseas business expansion.

pls. is it true that Amitone is not good for women of child bearing age who have fibroid.
Posted by David & Heide on August 18, 2008 at 9:11 pm
Hi Rosemary.
Thanks for finding our blog, and for your interesting question.
Amitone contains 5 natural amino acids (protein building blocks); some calcium; zinc; magnesium, and potassium. These are all natural nutrients, and if you ate them as components of your normal food, you wouldn’t think twice.
However, these nutrients have been put together deliberately in Amitone, to work with a hormone called human growth hormone (often abbreviated to HGH). HGH plays a role in the utilisation of fat for energy, and the production of lean body tissue. Amitone encourages these functions, which is why it’s a great product for men and women wanting to tone their bodies.
Two of the five amino acids in Amitone (L-arginine, and L-ornithine) are building blocks of human growth hormone. It’s known that women with fibroids sometimes have higher levels of HGH than other women – this isn’t the cause: it’s just an observation.
Perhaps increasing the HGH level a little bit, by taking Amitone, wouldn’t be helpful?
I haven’t found any scientific evidence one way or the other, Rosemary: I’m just thinking out loud.
So, please would you contact GNLD directly?
You can use the ‘Contact us’ link at the foot of their homepage at http://www.gnld.com
Your question will then be passed to the specialists of GNLD’s Scientific Advisory Board, and you’ll get an exact answer direct from the scientists responsible for all GNLD’s excellent products.

can your products cure female fibroids?
Posted by David & Heide on September 8, 2008 at 2:39 pm
Hello Musa.
Welcome to our blog. GNLD’s nutritional supplements are not medicines,so I can’t say they’ll cure “female fibroids”. It’s always best to have a chat with your health care provider about your medical treatment options.
However,it’s generally accepted that if you make sure your body is getting all the nutrients it needs to function properly, then your body itself will often use its amazing powers to heal all sorts of things.
Everyone knows the health formula… choose fish or skinless chicken for protein, with lots of fresh vegetables and fruits. Avoid processed foods and fried foods. Drink filtered water instead of alcohol or fizzy drinks. Don’t smoke. Do a little exercise every day. Take time to smell the roses.
Even on this formula, you won’t get all the nutrients you need… you’ll need to take supplements to bridge the nutrient gaps (see our post “Need for supplements”).
A good place to start filling the gaps is with a whole-food multivitamin/multimineral supplement like GNLD’s Multi, Formula IV, or Formula IV Plus. And your immune system needs to be strong, so take a look at GNLD’s proven immune system booster at http://www.carotenoidcomplex.com
If you need more info about specific products, and how you can get them, please let me know,Musa.

Are there an dangers of taking tre-en-en while pregnant? What are the benefits of taking it while you are pregnant? Whic other GNLD products can I take while preg? I am alrady taking a multivitamin suppliment.
Posted by David & Heide on October 3, 2008 at 3:16 pm
Hi Rehema.
Interesting questions, thanks.
Tre-en-en is perfectly safe. It provides the complete lipid and sterol profile of wheat, rice, and soya. It’s cold pressed and cold processed to preserve the nutrients, and it’s gluten free. The lipids and sterols enable our cells to work more efficiently. Unfortunately, they’re often stripped from our food during processing, so putting back the vital lipids and sterols with Tre-en-en will benefit our cells enormously.
You didn’t say which multivitamin you’re taking, but it’s a great idea for you and baby, so well done. Incidentally, GNLD’s Formula IV and Formula IV Plus multivitamins both contain the Tre-en-en supplement, an added bonus.
I’d also recommend Omega 3 Salmon Oil. Or even better, the new Omega 3 Salmon Oil Plus. It’s the only one with a guaranteed amount of all 8 members of the omega 3 family. They’re essential for brain, eye, and nerve development, in particular.
Other supplements you may like to consider are…
Cal-Mag, to give you much-needed calcium and magnesium in the correct 2:1 ratio for baby’s bones and teeth
Nutrishake, to make sure you’re getting all 22 amino acids humans need. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. When you consider that bones, skin, hair, nails, teeth, blood cells, nerves, hormones, antibodies, and lots of other things are made from protein, you can see how important they are.
Even though the supplements I’ve mentioned are made from real human food, it’s a good idea to chat with your healthcare provider before you make any major changes to your diet or supplement routine.

Hi GNLD team
great feedback for great products.
I wonder why my heat beat increases when i take Tre-en-en grain. It has just started so i went off though it helped me with renewed energy. Please advice
Posted by David & Heide on November 10, 2008 at 7:30 pm
Hello Lil. Thanks for your comment. As you know, Tre-en-en is a gluten-free product that contains the essential natural oils and fatty acids from the germ portions of wheat, rice, and soy that are often processed out of modern food. We need them for our cells to work at their best. If our cells are working properly, so are we, which is why you experienced improved energy levels. There’s nothing in it to stimulate your heart. Hope this re-assures you about the product.
If you’re experiencing changes in your heart beat, please pop along to your doctor for a check-up. It’s well worth it for your peace of mind.

of what benefits is tre en en to an expectant mother?
Posted by David & Heide on January 2, 2009 at 3:43 pm
Hello Roy. Sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you.
Tre-en-en provides the complete lipid and sterol profile of wheat, rice, and soya. It’s cold pressed and cold processed to preserve the nutrients, and it’s gluten free. The lipids and sterols enable our cells to work more efficiently, but unfortunately they’re often stripped from our food during processing. Putting back the vital lipids and sterols with Tre-en-en will really benefit mother’s and baby’s cells.
A multivitamin is a great idea for Mom and baby, too. Both GNLD’s Formula IV and Formula IV Plus multivitamin/multimineral supplements contain Tre-en-en, so you may like to consider recommending one of these products rather than Tre-en-en on its own.
It’s also really beneficial to supplement with Omega 3 Salmon Oil. Or even better, the new Omega 3 Salmon Oil Plus. It’s the only one with a guaranteed amount of all 8 members of the omega 3 family. They’re essential for brain, eye, and nerve development, in particular.
Other supplements you may like to recommend are…
Cal-Mag, to give much-needed calcium and magnesium in the correct 2:1 ratio for baby’s bones and teeth.
Nutrishake, to make sure Mom and baby are getting all 22 amino acids humans need. Amino acids are the building blocks of the proteins that make bones, skin, hair, nails, teeth, blood cells, nerves, hormones, antibodies, and lots of other things. So you can see how important they are.
Even though the supplements I’ve mentioned are made from real food, it’s always best to encourage the person you are advising to chat with her healthcare provider before making any major changes to her diet or supplement routine.
Best wishes for a healthy, happy, and prosperous 2009, Roy.

i saw spartial distribution of the GNLD members in tyor life style magazines.the world maping shows;africahas the leading no.of members, followed by asia and europe.americ and south america has got few members.why?
Posted by David & Heide on March 16, 2009 at 6:48 pm
Hi Rev. Anatory.
Sorry: I somehow overlooked your interesting comment.
Frankly, I don’t think there is a simple answer. There are lots of reasons for variation of business activity in any business, I guess.
As you know, GNLD is driven by the Distributors who promote their excellent products. Here in Africa the products have the reputation for actually doing what they say they’ll do, unlike many of the competitors’ offerings.
Distributors are thus enthusiastic and energetic in developing their businesses, knowing that they’ve got something of value to offer other people. And customers have confidence they’re getting top-quality products that work.
It hasn’t happened overnight. GNLD has been steadily growing on the African continent since 1971, and continues to expand.
Network marketing is a brilliant way for someone with no previous business experience to develop a genuine business, because distributors are taught the business skills as they go along.
Because the start-up cost is very low, there’s no need for bank loans, staff, premises, stock, or any of the other burdens of conventional business, which of course appeals to anyone with ambition but no access to capital.
These two particular facets of GNLD’s business make it very popular on this continent.
And the two facets will be more and more important to people in the present climate of company failures and job losses in the so-called first-world developed countries, too. The income from a GNLD home-based business could make the difference between losing the house and keeping it; bancruptcy, or staying afloat.
GNLD is growing strongly, worldwide. I’m sure when you look at the distribution map at the end of this year, you’ll not only see more countries on GNLD’s map, but also huge increases in their activities in all the 52+ countries where they’re presently doing good business.

Can I take Aloe Vera Plus during pregnancy?
Posted by David & Heide on March 25, 2009 at 10:45 pm
Hello Pam. Thanks for visiting our blog and leaving a comment.
I’ve not found anything in the GNLD literature I’ve got, recommending avoidance of Aloe Vera Plus during pregnancy.
And I’ve surfed around Wikipedia for contraindications in pregnancy, without success, too.
However, in her book, ‘Prescription for Nutritional Healing’, the well-know nutritionist, Phyllis Balch, has the following in the Aloe entry of the Herbs section:
‘Caution: Should not be taken internally during pregnancy.’
Unfortunately, she doesn’t say why. And I can’t find ‘why’ anywhere else.
Pam, I thinks it’s best to err on the side of caution. Wait ’till after your baby has arrived. Then take the Aloe Vera Plus.

I am very happy to find you here. I am a distributor in USA and I get many requests from people in Africa — how they can get products and how they can become distributors. I send them the Application form for Africa and then I never hear from them again. I am hoping they are finding their way to becoming distributors, but I have no way of knowing since they do not write again. Perhaps we can work together somehow. If you have people who know people in USA and if I find people who know people in Africa. Let me know! I don’t know if I will ever find my way back to this website again — I just stumbled upon it — so just email me and let’s chat!

Most GNLD distribors i have come across always give thhe give the assurance that GNLD products can rectify and put an end to any form of disease irrespective of its extent of manifestation. Yet all internet publications i have read about GNLD always instruct that the products are not designed as a curative measures to aiment-this i think is a manufacturer’s truth.
However, if that is the case, i mean if the products dont cure aiment(s), what does it do or what is the essence of patronage and consumption?
Posted by David & Heide on July 23, 2009 at 2:51 pm
Hi Billy.
Great questions, thanks. As requested, I’ve replied directly to you via your email, but thought it useful to extract this part and reply to it for general info.
GNLD Distributors are very enthusiastic about their products, because they work. Although most Distributors are not medically qualified, there are many who do have medical training and recommend the products in their practices. If you visit http://www.gnld.com you’ll be able to read about the specialists of the Health Professionals Council, for example.
Non-medically-qualified Distributors are, by law, not allowed to offer GNLD products to cure disease. The ‘essence of patronage and consumption’, to use your words, is to bridge nutritional gaps that may be present.
We all know what we should be eating, but many, many people ignore the advice and choose stuff only ‘cos it tastes nice. Like fried chicken and chips washed down with a can of brown fizz. It might taste good, but there’s not a lot of nutrition in it.
At the other end of the scale, there are those who don’t touch fast food, buy the best fruits and vegetables they can afford, and wash them down with filtered water. But they also often have deficiencies because the soil in which the crops are grown has been sucked dry by repeated use of the same bit of land.
In both these extremes, and for everyone inbetween, GNLD nutritionals help. They offer a means of getting the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, and ‘good’ lipids many people are lacking.
And when your body is getting what it needs, it will function at its best, and you’ll feel on top of your game.
Hope that answers this part for you, Billy. The other part’s in the email.
Posted by Kerry Coates on July 23, 2009 at 6:49 pm
Billy,
It is a crazy, mixed up world. Doctors are allowed by the FDA to prescribe drugs that have harmful and often fatal side effects, however, the FDA has set about laws governing and controlling companies that sell health products, vitamins and the like. The FDA does not allow any natural health products company to make any claims about curing, treating or prescribing for any illness or disease. (I personally think the FDA and the medical community are in kahoots.) So we have to “tippy-toe” around and do the little dance to satisfy this controlling giant. GNLD’s products have been proven to work over and over since 1958 — people take them and gain vitality and optimum health — however we cannot point to a certain product and actually “prescribe” it for anything that ails you. This is true for ANY health products company, not just GNLD. So in order to avoid lawsuits, we have to watch our language and we also have to put on every page of our websites and on every product label a statement that says we are not prescribing (since most of us distributors are not doctors). However, doctors can say anything they want to about the products. The problem is that there are SOME doctors out there that do not believe in natural cures or remedies and they will not recommend vitamins — they would rather you are sick so they can have patients and make money on your sickness. For those doctors, I only wish they could feel the difference in their lives that GNLD products create. There are other doctors who will prescribe more natural cures and who believe in taking vitamins as opposed to harmful drugs. If you ever find such a doctor, stick with him because he is an unselfish person and he is truly looking out for your total well-being.

what about people with AIDS
Posted by David & Heide on August 31, 2009 at 6:05 pm
Hi S. Thanks for asking about this very important topic. In South Africa, about 1,400 people get infected with HIV every day. Apart from any medical interventions, whether they go on to develop AIDS eventually, has a lot to do with the strength of their immune systems. And the strength of their immune systems, in turn, has a lot to do with what they eat, drink, and breathe in. I’m putting a couple of new posts on this blog you might like to check out… one about healthy choices for those with HIV, and one about which fruits and vegetables have the most health benefits. As far as supplements go, the GNLD supplement I personally recommend to start with, is Carotenoid Complex. You can read about this clinically-proven immune booster at our product blog, http://www.healthybusiness.co.za/blog. If you find the info there useful, please tell your friends about it: they may know someone who could benefit from it. Thanks, S.

I have Uterine Fibroid and i was told to have a surgery but i am scared, please can i use gnld products to shrink my fibroid to erradicate it entirely.
Posted by David & Heide on September 7, 2009 at 12:36 pm
Thanks for visiting, F. I can imagine how you feel about the prospects of having an operation done. Did you have a chance to discuss your fears and possible treatment options with your gynaecologist? Have you had a second opinion about the necessity for surgery… I always think it’s worth the cost of a second consultation. As far as GNLD is concerned, there isn’t a supplement that will specifically shrink fibroids. However, Carotenoid Complex will boost your immune system. And I’m thinking that if your immune system is strong, there is a chance that the immune cells normally responsible for ‘gobbling up’ cells that don’t fit the usual pattern, will find the fibroid cells and start to gobble them up. I’ve no facts to base this on, F., I’m just thinking out loud, clutching at straws even, but you may feel Carotenoid Complex is worth a try.

apart from aloe vera plus, which other suppliment suitable for persons with stomach ulcers
Posted by David & Heide on October 19, 2009 at 4:41 pm
Hello Paul.
Have you been to your doctor? Stomach ulcers are often caused by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, which can be treated with specific medicine.
Self-help would be to avoid irritants like tobacco, alcohol, strong coffee, and fried foods. And to eat small meals throughout the day, rather than a big lunch-time or evening meal.
As far as GNLD is concerned, Aloe Vera Plus is #1 on the list. Vitamin E is also good, because it’s a powerful antioxidant, and helps promote healing. I’m also thinking Herbal Digestive Complex would help you. It contains many herbs known to soothe, reduce inflammation, and support digestive function.
Wish you better soon, Paul.

can children below one year given to omega-3 capsules and if yes to what dose?
Posted by David & Heide on October 20, 2009 at 11:09 am
Hi Ismail. Important question, thanks.
There’s omega 3 in mother’s milk, and in many of the milk substitutes, so babies do get some of the essential nutrient as soon as they enter the world. How much they get from mummy depends on how much omega 3 she has in her own food, of course. We all know people don’t eat much oily fish nowadays, so we’re great believers in supplementation for children and adults.
Our daughter-in-law did take GNLD’s Omega 3 Salmon Oil Plus as soon as she knew she was pregnant. Omega 3 crosses the placenta, so our grandson had a head start. Pun intended! He’s a really bright 3-year-old now.
After he was born, mother fed him for a while, then put him on formula milk. Once a day, she pierced one capsule of the GNLD Salmon Oil Plus and squeezed it into his bottle of formula.
From about 8 months, his parents gave him one whole capsule a day to chew on, under their watchful eye. Typical grandparents, we thought it was a bit too soon, and imagined the capsule going down the wrong way into his wind-pipe. Nothing untoward happened.
As general advice though, I’d say it’s best to wait until the child can confidently chew properly, before popping a whole capsule into his/her mouth. While you’re waiting for that ability to develop, pierce one capsule a day and squeeze the oil into his/her food.
At first, you may want to squeeze only a bit out of the capsule at a time, so you give a little at each feed. However, GNLD’s Omega 3 Salmon Oil Plus is very pure, doesn’t have a strong fishy taste, and doesn’t cause a fishy burp, so it should be just fine if you squeeze the whole capsule into one meal.
Long story short, Ismail… yes, it’s okay for children under 1 year… one capsule a day.

which products should i use during pregnancy
Posted by David & Heide on November 30, 2009 at 2:36 pm
Jambo Sylvia. Thanks for visiting.
You didn’t say if your mother is having medical treatment for her blood pressure. If she isn’t, please take her to a medical doctor as soon as possible. The doctor will give her medicine to lower her blood pressure, and also something to get rid of the water retention in her legs. This is the most important first step, Sylvia.
If she’s already having medical treatment for blood pressure, get your mother to go back and show the doctor her ’swollen legs’, because it’s something her doctor needs to know about. Once your mother’s blood pressure is under control, and the swelling in her legs has gone, she could then think about what she can do to help herself in the long term.
Hope you don’t mind the bluntness… my first suggestion is to lose weight. This will help her in many ways… with the blood pressure problems, with the strain on her knee joints, and her ‘big tummy’. Also, slimmer mum will feel more comfortable sleeping on her side, in which position she’ll probably not snore at all.
As you may know, GNLD has an excellent weight loss programme called GR2 Control, which you can read about on the dedicated website http://www.gr2control.com (Don’t forget to consult with your mum’s doctor before starting the programme, though. It’s always sensible to do this, before making any big lifestyle changes, particularly if you’re being treated for a medical condition.)
As far as supplements are concerned, you’ve chosen some good ones, Sylvia.
You may like to add GNLD’s Full Motion, which is designed to help renew cartilage, as well as to reduce joint pain.
And instead of separate Tre-en-en, and the PhytoDefence pack, I’d give your mum the new Pro Vitality pack. It’s got a capsule of Tre-en-en, a capsule of Carotenoid Complex, and a capsule of Omega 3 Salmon Oil Plus in each sachet. You can read about it on our new product blog linked to our website at http://www.healthybusiness.co.za/blog
The Omega 3 Salmon Oil Plus will work well with Full Motion, and the Cal-Mag she’s already having, to bring relief to your mum’s joints.
And lastly, I’d like to see a multivitamin, multimineral in there, to bridge any basic nutrient gaps. Multi goes well with the Pro Vitality pack.
Again, please check with her doctor first, before getting your mum to take any supplements.
About your acne…
Although I wrote it to help people with HIV, there’s lots of info about healthy food choices contained in this post.
I’m going to take the healthy food info and post it again as a separate post, the next on the list. In the meantime, though, you might like to read the food choice section, Sylvia, because it’s good advice for everyone. And as the condition of your skin is often a mirror of what you’re eating, the advice could help you improve the quality of your skin. (And if your mum followed the advice about avoiding ’stodgy’ carbohydrates, she’d lose weight in a slow, healthy way.) Just scroll down the post to the paragraph ‘Positive things you can do to keep your immune system strong’ , and the small paragraph after that, ‘A few general food tips’.
And in the post before that you can find out which fruits and vegetables have the most antioxidants to benefit your skin the most.
Sounds obvious, but keep your skin very clean, Sylvia. Washing with soap can clog your pores, because soap tends to leave little bits behind in your pores. On the other hand, GNLD’s Gentle Cleansing Bar doesn’t contain soap, and it rinses completely away, leaving no clogging residue.
As far as supplements are concerned, Pro Vitality would help to balance your skin, Sylvia. Add Multi to it, to supply the vitamins and minerals your skin needs.
Two other supplements to consider would be sustained release Vitamin C, which helps collagen formation (a major component of skin), and Chelated Zinc, which helps balance your skin oils.
How long should you take them? Well, the short answer is, don’t stop. Once your acne has improved, you could try maintaining everything with the Pro Vitality, Multi, and Gentle Cleansing Bar, and see how it goes without the extra Vitamin C and the Chelated Zinc.
Let me know if you need any more info, Sylvia. Best wishes, David.

Hi Lucy. You’re expecting… congratulations. And congratulations for thinking about the nutritional welfare of yourself, and your developing child.
You didn’t say which week you’re in, but check with your medical doctor before you start taking supplements. Anyway it’s wise to avoid any changes in your normal routines during the first three months of pregnancy.
Here are some of the nutrients you might like your doctor to sanction…
Omega 3 fatty acids are necessary for proper development of the eyes, brain, and nerves in particular, so your developing baby will be dipping into your own omega 3 stores.
Many people have concerns about eating oily fish, especially during pregnancy, because of the possible contamination by pollutants in the oceans.
A safe way of ensuring an adequate supply of omega 3 is GNLD’s Omega 3 Salmon Oil Plus. It’s the only omega 3 supplement available that has a guaranteed amount of all eight members of the omega 3 family. If you want, Lucy, you can read about it on our new product blog.
Almost everything being made by your new baby is made from, amongst other things, protein building blocks called amino acids. Amino acids are necessary for skin, nails, hair, bones, teeth, blood cells, nerves, enzymes, and lots, lots more. It’s a very long list, Lucy.
Having one serving a day of Nutrishake (it comes in chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla flavours) will ensure you get all 22 amino acids you need to support your baby’s development.
Lastly, Formula IV or Formula IV Plus would ensure you don’t have any vitamin or mineral gaps. And the Tre-en-en portion would provide you with important lipids and sterols often removed during food processing.
To sum up, that’s… Omega 3 Salmon Oil Plus, Nutrishake, and Formula IV or Formula IV Plus.
An alternative supplement combination could be Pro Vitality, Nutrishake, and Multi. As you know, that’s got the added advantage of Carotenoid Complex, the proven immune system strengthener.
Wishing you all the best Lucy, for you and your baby,
David.
