About us

David & Heide

That’s us. A couple of young-at-heart baby-boomers.

And this is Roza, our 4-year-young Rottweiler. Isn’t she g-r-r-reat? Roza, our lovely Rottweiler

Heide qualified in business administration, which is really useful, as she does all the rotten paper-work I hate. In my former working life, I was a self-employed dental surgeon in family practice, with emphasis on prevention. Roza has a Masters in scoffing food!

We’ve left our former professions, but couldn’t bear to sit rusting at the coast, watching the sun go from east to west! Instead, we’re keeping our brains active enjoying a second career, helping people maximise their potential for…

  • health (through imparting knowledge)
  • wealth (by helping people develop their own part-time business from home)
  • personal development (with free training, coaching, and lots of encouragement)

And when we’re not busy helping people, we enjoy getting in touch with Nature, and our Maker, pottering around in our garden. There’s always something in bloom…a joy to look at. And usually something to eat, too. Growing at the moment are lemons, tree tomatoes, oranges, bananas, papaya, chillies, paprika, celery, chives, garlic, sorrel, rocket, basil, oregano, marjoram, and tomatoes. Mmmm! Can’t beat the taste of something straight from the garden! (That’s if the monkeys don’t get there first!) And we know it hasn’t been sprayed with any horrible chemicals.

We also love swimming, though at this time of year, the pool temperature is way below our pain threshold and we haven’t been in for a while. Heide starts her day with a morning walk with Roza, while I jump about on the Orbitrek, squeeze the Abflex thing, and tug at the elastic tensioner, in an eternal fight against the visible signs of gravity.

As we haven’t got a telly, reading books about nutrition, and self-improvement occupies our evenings. Heide likes crossword puzzles too, and when she’s doing those I usually disappear to the net, getting to know WordPress, Facebook, and all the other fascinating Web 2.0 sites.

If you love the outdoors, like we do, South Africa’s the place to be. Big open spaces, blue sky, and a wonderful feeling of being in touch with our Origins here. The climate is wonderful most of the time in our Province, sub-tropical KwaZulu Natal, so we often get to ride around on our 600cc Yamaha…great fun! South Africa really does have something for everyone.

As you can see, it has some really beautiful beaches to stroll…

and lots of other interesting things to do, especially when travelling with friends…

like going to the top of Table Mountain

shopping, eating, and hanging at the V & A Waterfront, Cape Town

enjoying the huge buffet at Moyo Restaurant in the grounds of Spier Vineyards, Cape Winelands…

getting ready to watch whales off the coast at Hermanus..

standing at the southernmost tip of Africa, below the lighthouse at L’Agulhas, where the Indian Ocean (left) meets the Atlantic Ocean (right). We waited ages for that old Dakota to fly overhead!…

swinging through the tree-tops, 30 metres above ground in Tsitsikamma

feeding ostriches in Oudtshoorn

riding elephants near Addo, Eastern Cape…

admiring impala at Tala Private Game Reserve, between Pietermaritzburg and Durban…

or chilling out with a braai (South African word for ‘barbecue’) at the local Shongweni Dam, KwaZulu Natal…

Fish on the braai at Shongweni Dam, about 30 minutes from Durban.

Hope you enjoyed your brief visit with us on this page. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi,

The Blog is looking good, and lots of useful information!

The pictures are good too. They show you looking very healthy, and dare I say young?!?!?! It must be all those GNLD products you use! What fantastic stuff it is!

Happy blogging!

Thanks for the encouragement, Kate.

The further away from 21 we get, the more we seem to struggle with the visible effects of gravity! Nothing’s going to stop the ageing process, of course, but we’re doing our best to slow it down.

A little exercise every day; careful attention to what we eat, drink and breathe in help a lot, but we believe they’re not enough nowadays. Food just isn’t as nourishing as it used to be. We make sure we don’t have any nutritional gaps, by taking our daily vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, and omega 3 fatty acids from our favourite company, GNLD.

We’ve also converted to GNLD’s Homecare, so there aren’t any volatile sprays to inhale, or caustic, irritant, or flammable cleaners in our home environment any more.

And the Nutriance Skincare creams have removed some fine lines and flattened a few wrinkles, even on my chops.

We couldn’t have put it better ourselves when you said: ‘It must be all those GNLD products you use! What fantastic stuff it is!’
